Welcome to Casa del Puerto
Casa del Puerto stands as a charming boutique hotel nestled in the heart of Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo, Mexico. Rated a solid 4 stars, it offers a harmonious blend of comfort, seclusion, and authentic coastal ambiance. Visitors often praise its spacious, impeccably clean rooms featuring large balconies equipped with hammocks and seating, inviting relaxation while taking in stunning views of the ocean. Those fortunate enough to secure rooms on the third or fourth floors benefit from particularly breathtaking vistas.
The outdoor pool is a standout feature—steps away from the ocean and seldom crowded—providing an ideal oasis for guests seeking tranquility. While the beach itself may be limited by its size and presence of seaweed, the pool compensates admirably, becoming a preferred spot for leisure and refreshment. The hotel’s location offers a quiet retreat perfect for visitors eager to immerse themselves in local sightseeing and recreation, all within easy reach.
Casa del Puerto is also lauded for its dedicated staff. From attentive waiters to friendly personnel, the service elevates the overall experience, adding a warm, personal touch despite being somewhat understaffed at times. The culinary offerings reflect the spirit of the region, with a menu that, although occasionally limited in availability, consistently delivers flavorful, satisfying dishes complemented by well-crafted drinks.
Guests appreciate the comfort of air-conditioned rooms with stylish, large bathrooms and extraordinarily comfortable beds that promise restful nights. Though the air conditioning unit might struggle to beat the tropical heat fully, it maintains a pleasant atmosphere conducive to relaxation. The hotel caters well to families, offering kid-friendly amenities alongside conveniences such as free Wi-Fi, complimentary breakfast, and parking, as well as an airport shuttle service.
However, visitors should be mindful of certain drawbacks. The approach road to Casa del Puerto is notably bumpy and can add time to commute, posing minor inconveniences. Additionally, the hotel’s beach and pool maintenance routines could benefit from improvements in daily cleanliness. Despite these issues, the overall value proposition remains strong, especially given the affordable pricing relative to the quality of accommodations and service.
In essence, Casa del Puerto delivers a serene, intimate getaway that feels more like a home away from home than a standard hotel. It captures the essence of Puerto Morelos with its quiet charm, excellent staff, and thoughtful amenities, making it a worthwhile destination for travelers seeking a balanced blend of comfort, affordability, and genuine local flavor.

We stayed here for 4 nights and had a fabulous experience! The room was large, comfortable, and clean. The balcony was huge and had a hammock and chair for hanging out on. (Ask to be on the third or fourth floor for great views!) The pool is steps away from the ocean and was never overcrowded. The beach is not great for lounging as it is small and there is a lot of seaweed, but since the pool was right there that didn't bother us. The food is great. The menu is limited but it is easy to get into Puerto Morelos where there are many bars and restaurants (and a really nice grocery store for other necessities). We chose to bike to town (about 30min) as the hour walk on the beach was too hot and the taxis were not cheap (300 pesos one way). The staff at the hotel is so kind and helpful. And the cost is super reasonable! For us, it was a great alternative to staying all-inclusive because we used the money we saved on hotel cost to have fun exploring the town. We would 100% stay here again.
Amazing place, AMAZING STAFF and a beautiful beach view with entrance ..only thing is I don't think I'd be staying again.... Let me explain. 1- the road to get to the Hotel is damaged beyond imaginable , this makes getting in and out a huge hassle and also adds alot time to your overall commute from the hotel to the main road 2- the poor staff works tremendously long hours and unfortunately it seems like they aren't being treated well. As people were quiting left and right. ...Like I said amazing place 10/10 but if not revised I don't see people staying for a second time
Exciting and beautiful quiet place with so much liberty to do and enjoy your vacay as if you were at home. Lovely personnel although small in numbers. Beds are extremely comfortable, very large room , very large and beautiful finishes to bathroom. Not sure if AC does not cool down to setting of 16 Celsius bc of the outside heat, or it just needs more gas, yet managed to keep room at comfortable cooling setting. Property is gracious and most every day we got wonderful breeze. Pool and area clean, scented beach towels. Lovely overall. I would definitely come back and request same room.
Listing the pros and cons of this boutique hotel. It is the definition of above three stars but below 5. A perfect 4 if you ask me. Start with the pros: Very secluded Amazing staff and waiters. Fernando and Marcos are so amazing. Incredible people. The food itself is fantastic although somethings on the menu weren’t always available, still it was really really good. The drinks are also good and reasonable. The rooms are spacious and the balconies are huge with a fantastic view. Easily can get a taxi from the front desk. No chance on Uber so don’t even try. Pool is very nice and stylish. Incredibly safe, nothing to worry about with guards. Very safe area. Cons: It is pretty far from civilization. You will have to take a taxi unless you want an hour walk each way to downtown puerto murelos. That walk is on the beach, otherwise you’re looking at a 5 mile hike. Beach is roughly 2.4 miles which we did one day. The walk can be interesting because of seaweed at the current time. The seaweed is bad at certain times of the year. Especially right in April. The ocean is not swimmable which apparently is all over Cancún during this time. Since it is so far from the downtown area, you pretty much are left with eating at the restaurant (although it is very good). You can always stay downtown for dinner, but you will need a taxi backs If you’re going to this hotel at night, it can interesting because the road is not exactly lit or paved. Still, it is pretty safe. I wouldn’t worry about that. There are compounds of other hotels with tons of security everywhere. Nothing is going to happen.
Pro: Rooms are just beautiful. They are no less than average 4 star hotel standard Service staff is just amazing. Very helpful staff. Nice beach view Cons: very under staffed and stored kitchen Road to the hotel is quite bumpy Beach and pool both are not cleaned on daily basis But this place is good for money (100 to 140$) but I would definitely not pay mode than this. And if offered same price in my next visit, I will happily pick this place. Decor of the place is just beautiful!
